One thing that caught my eye in the reading was the chapter about computers. Personally I like to write out my notes for class and other topics by hand because I think that I remember it better. Writing out flashcards rather than using a website like quizlet allows me to remember it better in order to study for exams. The chapter made a lot of interesting points such that on a computer you can have spell check and open tabs and it is faster than writing by hand. Also it is easier to keep track of everything and easier to save files on a computer than saving them in hard copy folders because that takes up a lot of room. Computer storage has many places to store things and you can have it backed up so it doesn't get lost.
I thought it was super interesting how one chapter discussed how social media can be used for mathematics. And that got me thinking about how I follow mathematics accounts on facebook and twitter. Even though these sites are the last things that you would expect a mathematics theorem to come from it makes sense that our culture is evolving to become more social media and that even mathematics has to evolve towards that.
